I have to admit to being a little skeptical before starting What a Difference a Duke Makes, the first book in Lenora Bell’s School for Dukes series. Several of my fellow reviewers here at AAR have reviewed Ms.

Bell’s books in the past, and none of them were impressed, so I wasn’t at all sure what I was in for. I’m pleased to say though that this book ended up being quite a pleasant. What a Difference a Duke Makes is the first in the series of School of Dukes I absolutely loved the story line of What a Difference a Duke Makes.

It’s not your normal read of a Duke and a Governess. This was far superior of the ones I’ve read in the past. Duke of Banksford interviewed Mari for the Governess’s job for his unruly children/5.

CONNECTED BOOKS: WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DUKE MAKES is the first book in the School for Dukes series. STAR RATING: I give this book 2 stars. NOTE: I received an ARC of this book via Edelweiss in order to prepare a review.2/5.

The first in the new “School for Dukes” series, Lenora Bell based this newest book “What a Difference a Duke Makes” (pub. 3/27/18) after the idea of Mary Poppins, a magical governess who appears on the scene to save an entire family from misunderstanding each other.

and losing the opportunity to love one another and be loved in return. Unfortunately, What a Difference a Duke Makes, is – if at all possible – worse than the previous three books. From its odd Mary-Poppins-meets-Jane-Eyre premise (that doesn’t even make any sense; and there’s absolutely nothing subtle about it), to its heroine – improbably named Mari.

It doesn’t bode well that I read What a Difference a Duke Makes a couple of weeks ago and when I sat down to review it all I could remember was that it was a Regency romance and had a duke in it.

Luckily I was able to refresh my memory. This book is not particularly memorable, but it was enjoyable while I .A charming governess is hired to tame a duke’s children, but he needs her lessons more than they do.

After arriving 15 minutes late to an interview at Mrs. Trilby’s Agency for Superior Governesses and losing her chance at a job, Miss Mari Perkins is desperate—desperate enough to lie to a duke whose children have chased away four governesses in two months, as she learns by : Lenora Bell.
